Investigation officer in the case, Mohammadpur Police Station Inspector Abdul Latif Sheikh, submitted the charge-sheet to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

Court police’s prosecution department Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Anisur Rahman said charge of plotting subversive acts had been levelled against the accused.

The other accused, against whom charges were pressed, are Md Saiful Islam Prince, 21, Abu Hanif, 23, Aminul Islam, 25, Zahidur Rahman, 27, Ali Ahmed, 28, Abdullah Al Asadullah aka Pias, 29, Md Junnun Shikder, 27, Kazi Mohammad Rezaul Sharif, 30, and Naimul Hasan, 28.

Police arrested 31 people, including Jasim Uddin in Barguna on Aug 12 last year. They seized computers, laptops, CDs and books that could incite religious sentiments from his residence and office at Mohammadpur in Dhaka the following day.

Law enforcers arrested the nine others on Aug 24 last year raiding different places in the capital.

They filed two cases -- one under the Information and Communication Technology Act and the other under the Anti-Terrorism Act -- against the 10 on the same night with Mohammadpur police.

Police officers had said at that time that they suspected Ansarullah Bangla Team plotted to kill 12 people, including two ministers, whose names were found in a list confiscated from Jasim’s office.

They said the militant outfit also planned to attack different establishments and loot arms from police stations to unseat the government through jihad.
